Most brands claim ranges like 150 km per charge. That number is measured in a lab, at 25 km/h, with a light rider and a full battery. In real Indian conditions, think 60-70 km/h traffic, two riders, hills and summer heat, the real-world range is typically 55-65% of the claimed figure. Our calculator works with real-world range, which is why the per-km cost it gives you is honest.
To find the real range of your scooter: take the claimed range and divide by roughly 1.6, or trust the ARAI-certified figure divided by 1.3. For example, a 150 km claimed scooter realistically gives 90-100 km. At a daily commute of 20 km, that still means charging every 4-5 days, which is plenty for most city riders.
